Health & Safety

At Canto 19, our foremost priority and primary concern is to ensure that health & safety standards are met, and as a consequence none of our participants have ever experienced any form of serious injury, and no one has ever required medical attention.

We understand that if properly organised and managed responsibly, all of our activities can be conducted in relative safety.

Practitioners at Canto 19 are trained by Scott and Diane Bell, the founders of UK Firewalk.  Scott and Diane are two of the most knowledgable people in the world of firewalking with over 20 years of experience and they have hosted over 1000 firewalks between them.

Canto 19 team members who are not firewalking practitioners receive internal training.

As a consequence of being certified by UK Firewalk, Canto 19 is able to take advantage of BGi specialist firewalking insurance cover of up to £5 million.

At Canto 19, with respect to all of our event activities, we carry out a thorough risk assessment and method statement, which we provide for the client or clients agent.

  • Risk Assessment – a systematic process of identifying hazards and evaluating any associated risks.
  • Method Statement – describes the safety precautions put in place to control risks identified in the risk assessment.

At all Canto 19 events at least one member of the team will be trained in first aid.  In addition, we always bring a first aid kit to any event.

It is the responsibility of the client and/or the clients agent to provide additional medical support and resources if required.

Wristbands are given to all participants once they have completed an activity seminar and signed a waiver, providing an added security, as well as health & safety, measure.

Without exception, any individual who is not wearing an allocated wristband will not be permitted to take part in any given activity.
